Canopus DVX: no sound in Premiere 6.5 and Canopus Edius 3.61

Frage von Michael-O:
Januar 2006
Hello,
I installed the card and was very negative s.Wochenende identified.
Playing in the timeline or a video out of the bin (in both programs), you can hear the sound * only * s.ausgang the map and not through the soundcard.
Is this normal??
Sowas I had with my old raptor not.
Get in 2-3 months had to prmeiere pro 1.5 upgrade (already bought the collection), but this needs to run the premiere erstmal 6.5
thanks
bye

Antwort von Jörg:
Hi,
You have connected the line out the Canopus with the line in the sound card?
Gruß Jörg

Antwort von MiXMaster:
no, I did not.
I will not make synonymous, when the Raptors went as synonymous.
also will bring me nothing if I want to invest in sound premiere pro 5.1.

Antwort von Stefan:
The Raptor is not comparable to the dot. The Raptor does not have a decoder for DV - Audio to AV Audio.
But: The combination of helping the Raptorbay sound card that you can hear audio when tuned analog camera connected to the desktop speakers.
Back to your problem .. I suspect (!) that you are in the preview options of AP 6.5 DV only issue you have set. You ought to DV output, plus DirectX adjust output.
If you have not rotated it is dire, the difference with the Raptor may have noticed before. Or switch the preset files of DVX s.and DirectX only make DV output.
Good luck

Antwort von Michael-O:
Hello Stefan,
do you have the DVX, if so you have tons of the box?
DX-edition?
sowas had never noticed the raptor.
You mean here:

Antwort von Stefan:
No. I have no DVX, although I've posted before Christmas, always good ;-)
DX And I do not mean but DV output, ie, preview via firewire. The post is correct, but the editing mode is not true. On my Raptor is the correct mode DVRaptor. In addition, there with me for OHCI-compliant cards are still the DV playback mode.
If you should therefore be the editing mode with DVX something if it is sowas, or DV playback. It is safest if you can load a preset file. But I do not know if the Canopus DVX sowas installation software for the old WP 6.5 still brings with it.
If DV playback is set, is a button under the Advanced Settings button (engl. Playback Settings) and then allows you to set whether the preview at the DV device and / or is made on the desktop.
Now that I just sit in front of .. if one hires the output on the DV device is not automatically synonymous deselected and the audio output on the DV device made.
Whether the audio output is muted on the desktop, I know now, not because I as I said, an old but faithful DVRaptor use and this stuff does not concern me directly.
Good luck
The fat Stefan

Antwort von Michael-O:
I phoned my dealer.
he said, the DVX has its own sound processor and processes the sound of the sound card separately and independently.
therefore come from.
thus a feature.

Superior PC-Based Editor for P2 Systems

Among NLE manufacturers, Canopus has enjoyed a relatively small but rabid following. Recently Canopus combined its premium EDIUS Pro 3 NLE software with several previously optional packages (modules for P2, DVCPRO-HD, DVCPRO 50, VariCam and XDCAM) to produce EDIUS Broadcast, a one-stop NLE solution providing support for Panasonic’s P2/HVX200/VariCam, HDV 720/24p and 1080/24F and Sony’s XDCAM format.
EDIUS Pro 3 is a tight, fast, few-frills editing system. It delivers most of the necessary tools, though it’s not as well-rounded as the competition. At the time of this review, there were several developments involving Canopus. First, the company had been acquired by Grass Valley. Second, Canopus had announced EDIUS 4.0. I won’t spend too much time on the EDIUS software itself; instead we’ll focus on the accessory packages that constitute EDIUS Broadcast.

Does the “Broadcast” package have much to offer HVX, HDV or HDCAM shooters, especially in comparison to formidable competitors, such as Apple or Avid? In a word, yes. In three words, good golly yes. EDIUS Broadcast has far and away the best P2 integration of any of the major NLE packages. Avid and Apple should both go to “Canopus School” to learn how tapeless integration should be done. The EDIUS Broadcast integration for P2 is just about perfect; after using Broadcast, I was a lot less satisfied with my newly purchased G5 Mac/FCP system. EDIUS lets you edit straight from the P2 card, import directly to the hard disk, export back to a P2 card in the proper MXF file format and directory structure and maintain the metadata throughout the process. It plays back DVCPRO-HD footage in real time on a laptop that could barely squeak out 2 fps using another popular NLE. There’s also real time playback, live 1394 capture, print-to-tape, print-to-card and import-from-card. This is how it should be done, folks! Congratulations to Canopus for hitting this nail squarely on the head. EDIUS Broadcast is the only NLE on the market that supports every mode and frame rate of the HVX200.

Devices

EDIUS Broadcast is also about the only NLE (at the time of this writing) that supports HDV 720/24p and 1080/24F and does so very well, capturing straight from the camera and playing back 24p/24F HDV in real time. And while I didn’t have an opportunity to test XDCAM, EDIUS Broadcast’s excellent P2/MXF and HDV support leave me no doubt that it will excel at XDCAM also.

Canopus did a great job on EDIUS Broadcast. I can’t wait to get my hands on version 4.0.
